I'm looking to attempt to find independent financing/investors/??? for a business training horses - something I have experience doing. I'm at a point I really need to get a place of my own and not rely on subleasing - which means needing to focus on getting money to buy land and a basic operation setup. A bank loan is out of the question. I need to put together a strong business plan - and am finding it difficult to find step by step advice online. I'd greatly appreciate constructive input or links, advice etc from a business standpoint to get this off the ground. There will be a branch to other things besides just training.I'm not asking for $$ - but how to put together a business plan and trying to give enough information about what I'm doing to tailor the view to *that*. It's not like a mega company or store - business principles similar but there's much different.Where can I find a site or advice to put together a business plan?
Hi Jan,
I understand what you mean when you say you havent had much success putting the information together from online sources. Many online companies want you to pay $39 for a must have ebook that will put millions in your pocket..while at the same time, they are parying that someone will come along to buy the $39 ebook so they can eat!
Good information is FREE and its available anywhere you live! While most libraries have old info, dont discredit them. Go there, look for simple business books - not marketing, not how to get loans... start from the very beginning. You are at step #1 - you have an idea. #2 - you have experience (training horses)
Ask questions. Is there a need for someone that trains horses in your area? What seperates you from others in this area? Do you need more training? Are you financially prepared to go 5 years with no income from this business venture?
Contact the Small Business Administration in your area (http://www.sba.gov/financing/) Most every city (and small town) offers classes on how to start a business, create a business plan, etc. I have family members that went through the SBA and they ';graduated'; when they created a business plan and presented it to others in the class. In addition, when they graduated the local SBA put their names, contact info, url on the site that showed they had been through some formal training. For Free!
I have been self employed 7 years now and finally not having to sweat so much! I could have made things much easier had I slowed down and educated myself on what it takes to be the boss, the worker bee, the gopher, the .. you get the picture! I did not take the slow route. I jumped in with both feet and can tell you from personal experience, that 90% of the work is preparation.
Contact your local libraries, community colleges, and even the chamber of commerce in your area. Surely, there is real help out there for you to begin your new business - for free!
Good luck!Where can I find a site or advice to put together a business plan?

Why do people ask for legal advice on this site?
Most people who answer questions on here are not legal experts. In many cases you may be able to look up legal advice on legitimate sites. If any tells you they are a lawyer , doctor, judge, millionaire etc 9 times out of 10 they are not.
While it is true it could happen it is not likey. Whenever I see a legal question on here many times I will say ';Get a lawyer';.
Why do you people do this? Only a lawyer can give you information that is accurate and specific to your case. Why do people ask for legal advice on this site?
One could say that obtaining legal advice from Yahoo Answers! (TM) is for entertainment purposes only, and does not in any way imply or serve as a substitute for legal advice ordinarily given by a licensed attorney in one's state or legal jurisdiction. Why do people ask for legal advice on this site?
Because this is a good place to get a START!!!
My question to you is... Why do people question the integrity of people asking questions on this site?
Do some people think they are all rightous and can do no wrong?
If you answer all legal questions with ';get a lawyer';
1) you have no life
2) you a fishing for 2 points
The people on this site are good for general guidance, like whether or not you have a decent case and what kind of lawyer you should see.
They don't know where to get the information. Some of us have worked in the legal field.
The same reason they ask for pregnancy advice on this site.
Yet you call yourself a CEO when you are merely the owner-operator of a small business. ;)
You can see from my record on my profile that I hang out here a lot, and I have another ID with about the same amount of interaction on this forum.
I would say that I have seen maybe 3 or 4 questions where someone asked for legal advice in the legal sense, and exactly 0 where they were provided legal advice in the legal sense by anyone, regardless of their status as a professional in the legal business.
Maybe you can find some questions that are otherwise asked and answered, but then , well, you call yourself a CEO too, so your credibility is not so high on such nuanced issues :)
Because real legal advisors are out there. A little patience and a lot of reading will get you the law knowledge to be a legal advisor, and the main job of one is to tell you whether or not you have a viable case. It doesn't cost nearly as much and an advisor can tell you what sort of lawyer to look for.
Furthermore, some people here have been through similiar suits and can offer advice based on their personal experience.
Because lawyers charge by the minute and if you at least have some sort of baseline knowledge to know WHAT to ask you can save a ton of money!
The saying used to go: 'Thems as can, do, thems as can't, teach' Maybe now it ought to read 'Thems as can, do, thems as can't, answer questions in Law %26amp; Ethics on Yahoo answers TM
I think that who asks legal or medical questions does so, only for suggestions. I mean to see the point of view of others, or maybe someone who will be going through the same problem..
But I agree with u 101%, accurate information is only given by lawyers, doctors, etc.origins scars

Where can I find a Web site with advice about planting suitable trees near my new house ?
I am building a new house and had to remove a dangerous Weeping Willow. Planning permission was granted subject to my planting a more suitable tree, when the build is finished. The new tree will be about 12 to 15 metres from my new house. Any help you can give re: a Web site that has details of tree type and most importantly, suitability for plantling near my new home, would be much appreciated. Many thanks, PeterWhere can I find a Web site with advice about planting suitable trees near my new house ?
Try the RHS website - they should have info, and if they don't have exactly what you want, I imagine that if you email them, they will be able to put you in touch with the right people.Where can I find a Web site with advice about planting suitable trees near my new house ?
Try
http://www.osberton.co.uk/
a really easy guide to help you in the garden.
Go to: http://www.your-healthy-gardens.com/small-gardens.html
There is a list of ';patio trees'; that have tame root systems and that do well close to a home.
Also, if you use their ';contact us'; form there is an option to request a free e-book that has a lot of good info on selecting and planting trees for the home landscape.
Check the website of your state's agricultural extention service or better yet call!!!!! your county extention agent's office.
Some things are better done the old fashioned way instead of via internet because your local extention office will not only have the ';offical'; list but will have had feedback from people who have planted different trees in you local area.

Where is a site with advice for clothing style similar to what not to wear website?
Its easy to find websites with hairstyles, but I want a site with advice on how to dress. I was looking for something similar to the What Not To Wear website, with tips and hints about body type and what styles fit it, only a little more extensive.Where is a site with advice for clothing style similar to what not to wear website?
Honestly, I don't know of any actual websites that are extensive, you can always try a fashion magazine site (like InStyle). What I would recommend doing, if you want personal advice, is to visit a specialty clothing store, like Express or Maurices. The people there are specially trained to find the right fit and style of clothing for your body type, and they are there to work one-on-one with what you want to find; really they would be your own personal Stacy or Clinton!

What is the best advice site on the web?
A cool new advice site I recently found is AdviceParty.com. Here you post a question and give up to four possible solutions you are thinking of. Users to the site will then vote on what they would do in that situation. If they don't like any of the solutions that you have picked for yourself then they can just submit there own. You can also choose a character to actually speak your question. Pretty Cool!!What is the best advice site on the web?
I like this one!
There are many advice sites that cater for specific categories, so we could advise you better if we know the nature of your problem :)What is the best advice site on the web?
There are plenty of sites on the web to get many kinds of advises for free. Majority of advises are being given by visitors of the sites. You can post ur issue to many sites and can receive different kinds of advises for the same issue. You can post ur issue to same site at different timings and receive different types of advises too. There is no good or bad site for advises per my opinion. The good/bad advises depends on the person's( who is answering ur issue) capability.
On the other way, you can get advises from professionals too. They charge some $ .
All the best.

DOes any1 know of a ';free legal advice'; site that is actually free and will actually give a response?
I found some that are actually free, but it seems that user have gone months without a response, and I found one that says its free, and gurantees a response, but then wants a donation of 15 to 45 dollars...DOes any1 know of a ';free legal advice'; site that is actually free and will actually give a response?
You'd get much better advice if you look in your local phonebook and find an attorney who will give free consultations. Most do.DOes any1 know of a ';free legal advice'; site that is actually free and will actually give a response?
I think that this is the only free site that offers free answers to questions. You might try posting your question in several different categories to get a bigger response. Also try researching it in dogpile.com which is the biggest search engine site as it combines all search engines in one.
There are places online where legal issues are discussed, and occasionally a lawyer will reply. In those cases, an answer will be generic.. and it really is not considered ';valid legal advice';. There is a good reason.. NO lawyer will say ';do such and such';, without having a personal chance to know all the details. The same would be true for a medical question online.. you can say I have spots on my leg.. which could be allergies, chicken pox, or cancer. If a dr. said ';oh, that is nothing serious';, someone could sue him (or try to), claiming he gave ';bad'; diagnosis.
Like many people, I answer questions here. I am not a lawyer, and don't claim to be. I might be able to find a place where you can read the exact law for yourself. I may have experience with a certain issue. That still doesn't mean you should accept what I say, without understanding the risk. The same applies even to what a lawyer here will tell you. If you don't post ALL the relevant information, they can reach a 'wrong' conclusion. Something really serious needs to be heard by a real lawyer, who knows the law in your state.. and even then.. they can mess it up.
Nope. Generally, such sites are not good ones and are illegally practicing law. If you want free legal advice apply for Civil Legal Aid. Every state offers it, and if you meet the income requirements, it is FREE.
Good lawyers charge a lot of money for their advice. Why would you think you could get good legal advice for free? In short, the answer is ';no.'; If you need good legal advice you're going to have to pay for it.
Iv yet to find one...
