For the UK, I would always check that any person giving any such opinions works for a company that is 鈥榓uthorised and regulated鈥?by the Financial Services Authority. That is normally clearly stated on the company website.
Assuming you would prefer to start with free investment information them some of the trading portals like CleanFinancial.com could be worth a look.
I don鈥檛 think they are regulated but they get daily updates from Trading Analysts from the bigger (and regulated) spread betting companies. The analysts will often come out with some interesting views on stocks, indices, oil, gold, forex markets etc.
Whilst I wouldn鈥檛 trade on a market just because an analyst came up with a theory, the articles do highlight interesting opportunities. Usefully, they also highlight things to be wary of.
