Seems like it's all a bunch of smarta$$ kids calling each other names and making fun of everyone. What's the value in that?Is it possible to get decent answers and advice on this site?
As with any other public gathering place, the Internet is a microcosm of society. Unfortunately, the degradation of the rules of social interaction is much more visible here, as the anonymity factor comes into greater play. People who would never say the kinds of things we read on the 'net feel much more free to say them here.





But yes, you can sometimes get decent answers, with the occasional tidbit of information that you never knew, from Yahoo! Answers.





You just have to look for the people who were brought up properly by their parents, who have a modicum of intelligence, and who are willing to share their knowledge freely. Someone, somewhere, has or knows what you need. The trick is finding them.

It is, but rarely. Lately it seems there are more and more kids here who just want to chat and are looking to hook up -- violations of the guidelines. I don't know if reporting them will help because it's like shoveling against the tide. But when you see those chatty questions ('am i hot?' 'will you be my friend?' 'do you like peanut butter?') you report them as abuse.

Turn in the ones who are asking vulgar and idiotic questions and answers and just maybe we can clean this site up and make it a useful place to talk.
