Any site advice for a brief photoshop tutorial?

I've been trying to find a site that has a brief and a step by step tutorial of photoshop in PDF format. It would be helpful if it's like a book ofcourse in PDF format-it would be perfect if it can me to a pro level.

I don't know any sites that offer pdf but www.webnoobie.com offers video tutorials on photoshop and other adobe products. I think videos would be easier than pdf's, plus they are free.
